Making Friends with Ourselves – A Mindfulness Retreat
August 8, 2024 @ 6:00 PM - August 11, 2024 @ 6:00 PM SAST
“She looked her demons right in the eye and said “don’t you worry…” we will become the best of friends.” – N.R. Hart
We all have our “demons”. They are parts of ourselves that we don’t approve of, don’t accept, don’t like, deny, hate, fight, and do our best to conquer. What if we were to try the opposite? A different approach would be to invite, get to know, accept, and turn into allies!
During this three-day retreat, starting on Thursday evening, and ending on Sunday 11 August, we’ll be meeting our “demons”, giving them physical form via art materials, conversing with them, and befriending them. There is also the option of joining the retreat from lunchtime on Friday, which is a public holiday.
This retreat will use techniques from the mindfulness toolbox such as relaxation, meditation, reflection, gentle yoga, and walks in nature.
