A Transforming Retreat with Melanie Polatinsky
The legends of Guru Rinpoche/Padmasambhava, also called the second Buddha, are rooted in a historical figure, miraculously born, who came to Tibet in the 8th Century to bring the highest Buddhist teaching and subdue the darkness in the land.
His consort and disciple, Yeshe Tsogyal recorded all these teachings in “termas” to be discovered at appropriate future times.
Guru Rinpoche manifests in multitudinous forms which can be identified as ARCHETYPES as real and valid in this 21st century as they were in the 8th century.
This retreat is primarily to make an intimate and exciting connection with the whole pristine mandala of Guru Rinpoche and Yeshe Tsogyal, which will serve to transform our lives and our awakening to INTRINSIC AWARENESS.
We will :
- Study some of the “terma” Teachings
- Do Guru Rinpoche Practices, including Guru Yoga
- Do lots of MEDITATION
and, in general, in the mysterious and natural environment of TRC, really find the pathway to take us back “home” to the “Copper-Coloured Mountain Pureland” of Guru Rinpoche.
This retreat runs from Thursday night to Sunday lunchtime. However, if you are only able to come from Friday to Sunday, that is permitted.
In addition, Melanie will do a few days of personal retreat before the start of this retreat, and she is happy for others to join her – contact us for more details.
Cost
The cost includes accommodation, all meals, and beverages from Thursday supper to lunch on Sunday, as well as an optional environmental levy of R60. It excludes dana for the facilitator and tips for the staff.

Facilitator
Melanie Polatinsky is a psychotherapist, lecturer and teacher of Tibetan Buddhism, empowered by Lama Yeshe Rinpoche to teach. She has worked and taught in a variety of fields with individuals and groups for the past 50 years. Melanie gives weekly Buddhist lectures online on many different dharma topics from how to clear our psychological karmic imprints to the deeper Vajrayana Buddhist teachings.
